Even on a small budget, don’t give-up a life long dream of meeting mountain gorillas in their natural habitant. You can successfully plan your gorilla trek independently and go as cheap as possible. The price of a Uganda gorilla permits isn’t cheap, its standard at $600 in the months of December – March, June – October, and $450 in the low season months of April, May and November. Even with a pricey gorilla permit, you can reduce the rest of the expense to fit your small budget for the trip.

You can travel by public means, Its just about 25, 000 UGX – $7 from Kampala to Kabale where you can have overnight. Its about 7 hours scenic drive with brief stop offs. I recommend having overnight in Kabale and hiring a 4*4 vehicle to drive to Bwindi early morning to catch briefing for gorilla trekking. It would be great to spend the second night in Bwindi forest camping – Its very beautiful overlooking the forest
Book your hotel your self, check cheap accommodations within the area you are going to be visiting mountain gorillas and book nearby accommodations. Accommodation in Bwindi ranges from 20 Per night camping just near your trekking point.
Pack right for for trek – sturdy hiking shoes and socks, enough water, a light rain jacket and do hire a porter.
